There are only 42 days before Christmas and if you have not planned for the Noche Buena and Media Noche yet, Alex III restaurants have a solution for you.
Lechon de leche P3,500 order 2 days in advance and save P300 off
Who does not love lechon? Moreover, what is a celebration if there is no lechon in the menu. Tasted Alex III Lechon de Leche a couple of weeks ago at their Diliman branch and I still remember how crispy the skin was and how succulent its meat and fat were.
Nothing beats the taste and texture of freshly roasted suckling pig.
Chicken Relleno P1700 order 2 days in advance and save P300 off
Although called Chicken Relleno in Alex 3, in our family we call it Chicken Galantina. Chicken is deboned and stuffed with a meat mixture then baked in an oven for sometime at least that’s how we do it. I do not know how Alex 3 does theirs but it sure smells and looks like Christmas to me.
You can eat it with rice or with bread. It taste better a few days after. I like to make a chicken relleno/galantina sandwich with it… yum!
BREAKFAST STAPLES
Tapa P600 per half kilo
Tapa Pinoy-style is not the “tapa” or small bites of our Spanish conquerors of yore. Our tapa are thin slices of beef usually sirloin marinated in soy with or without sugar. You either take it savory or sweet with your preferred egg and fried rice.
Alex III’s tapa is sweet and thinly sliced. It paired well with the sinangag or fried rice and sunny side up or itlog. I love mine dipped in vinegar then taken with a spoonful of rice and egg chased down by a piping cup of hot americano or tsokolate A.
I sometimes “drown” my rice with the coffee (like soup if you will )and scoop all of it with the tapa-sinangag-itlog-vinegar combo. That way I get a balance of the salty, sweet, sour , creamy, crunchy in one mouthful…yum!
Longga P400 per 500 gram
To be honest, I can not make heads nor tails of the flavor of Alex III’s longganisa. Usually its either garlicky, savory or sweet.
The size is generous though and the price reasonable for such huge and fat longgas.
Served with garlic rice, two eggs (any style), and your choice of brewed coffee, hot chocolate, Iced tea or dalandan juice, this is value for money. The best part is, you can order it at anytime of the day. Yay!
Overall…
A veteran in the food industry and part of the Reyes Clan which began The Aristocrat, Alex III managed to create an identity and brand of its own since it opened its first branch sometime in the 80s Today, it remains a strong favorite with its classic staples and its special holiday menu above. Thank you for hosting us Alex III and for the invite Alfred Pineda.
