Went here with friends on a rainy Wednesday afternoon. It was my first visit. Suprised how there are a number of choices for savory items.. But of course I have always known how good their coffee is. After all Illy originated in Italy…

The Food
Last Wednesday, we were served the following :
Filipino Breakfast P265
Smoked sardines served with two eggs, roasted tomatoes and garlic scented rice per the menu
What was served though were side greens and fried garlic rice. The smoked sardines were really good and best paired with either a hot cup of chocolate or a strong cup of brewed coffee.
Grilled Chicken with Orange Vinaigrette P275
Loved the crisp greens and the grilled chicken breasts which were moist. It married well with the citrusy vinaigrette which nicely complemented the sweet grapes and nutty lettuce.
Fettuccine with Truffle P350
A pretty straight forward dish. The pasta was al dente. The truffle sauce was creamy and did not overwhelm. Loved the bread on the side.
Quattro Stagioni P 515
If you love smoked ham, black and green olives and artichoke, you will like this flat bread .
Cappuccino Viennese P155
Illy espresso cappuccino with a mountain of whipped cream dusted with cocoa hit the spot. It was the perfect drink on a rainy day which was how it was last Wednesday.
Overall…
I love that cafe nowadays already include savory items. Saves us time and gives us more excuse to linger over our hot beverage and perhaps order more.
Illy’s food is prettu straightforward , delicious and reasonable price wise.
This branch in Paseo Center Makati is quite spacious, perfect for tete a tete with friends. I loved the dark wooden tables and chairs and that huge chandelier of colorful Illy special edition espresso cups which Illy Caffe all over the world are famous for.
I dont know about the parking space though.
Illy Caffe is located at the ground floor of Paseo center along Paseo de Roxas Makati.
