“Flights disrupted after plane skids off NAIA runway” was the headline in the morning papers earlier today. Xiamen Airline skid off the runway Thursday night causing widespread flight disruptions. A couple of friends of the hubby who were booked to depart yesterday were forced to stay for a day or two while awaiting new flight bookings. 
So we invited them for lunch to keep them company. They were billeted in Shang at the Fort which was just a few steps from Green Pastures. We ordered the following : 
Farmhouse Salad (small P455/ large P625)
shredded kale, chopped romaine, konbu, roasted chicken, mambo goat cheese, hardboiled eggs, bacon, corn, ripe mangoes, tomatoes, honey mustard dill vinaigreette
A complete meal in itself. It had all the requisite protein-carbs-fat-fruits-veg one needs in one’s daily diet. It was satisfying and filling . Love the greens. Did not even know there were kale in it.
PAN ROASTED SWORDFISH P590
clam and seaweed-konbu broth, broccoli leaves
This was a simple dish with complex flavors. It actually pleases my inner perpetually-on-a-diet self. I had no guilt whatsoever finishing the whole plate if only I could, Our fish was a bit on the overcook side but can easily be overlooked because of the saving grace – its lovely broth. Clams were on the thin side.
CEVICHE AND ROAST PORK P295
Locally termed SINUGLAW – Its actually a marriage of grilled pork belly or sinugbang baby liempo and fresh tuna with vinegar . GREEN PASTURE’S version though includes marinated yellow fin tuna, nose-to-tail pork sisig, tagalog chillies and lime. At first glance, I mistook the marinated tuna for cubes of pork fat until i took a bite. So there was a bit of a disconnect for a second or two.Quite an interesting dish this one. There were both sweet and savory notes.
BANGUS SARDINES P255
home-made in a bottle, fried kesong puti and toast
I loved the bread and the fried kesong puti. The Bangus was your ubiquitous Spanish-style sardines that are found in supermarkets everywhere
Overall, it was a pleasant afternoon having lunch with new friends of the hubby from their regional office. It was/ our first time in this branch but already visited their Shang Mall branch twice so we are familiar with their farm-to-table/ organic-food concept. Looking forward to more visits to try other items in their menu. Thank you to my handsome hubby for lunch haha.
