Received an invite to try this restaurant at Sapphire Bloc in Ortigas.  I have never stepped foot in Sapphire Bloc so I had to google it to locate it. Turned out it was  just near Marco Polo Hotel.

Stockpile is located at the ground floor and easily seen from  Sapphire  Avenue.

The restaurant had high ceiling ,  slabs of wood for wall in one  area, black boards, a huge wall adornment of rows and rows of cans.  The theme was both rustic and industrial. The vibe was casual.

Per  Ian Palabyab, Stockpile is more of a pub … an after work place to enjoy good quality food in different ways.

SQUID INK CUTTLEFISH TEMPURA P360

Interesting clumps of  black things which turned out to be squid ink batter for deep fried cuttlefish tempura. It was surprisingly good if you get past what you thought were charred pieces of something The cuttlefish inside were still tender and married well with the dip.

A little caveat though. This is quite addicting.

Fresh pasta, cream, truffle oil, mushroom, egg yolk

Truffle Mushroom + Tagliatelle  combo are our favorites.  The piggery will love  this.

SQUID INK PASTA WITH SEAFOOD IN CREAM P385

Hand-made squid ink pasta, sole, squid, cream

Presentation- wise it looked like a black mess of  something. But when you get your first taste, you will be surprised how good it is vis a vis what it looked like. Im a sucker for freshly made pasta. But I still prefer the Truffle Mushroom variant over this.

SALISBURY STEAK WITH RICE P299

I liked how it was presented in  a cast iron pan.The aroma of this dish was amazing. I just wanted to dive into that thick brown gravy almost immediately. But the camera had to eat first huhu

French beans,  au jus sauce, vinegar

The porchetta was tender where its suppose to be and crunchy where it should be. This can actually be shared by two plus extra rice hehe

Aligue Rice + Lechon = trouble. So order this on your cheat day

PAN ROASTED 24 HOUR BRINED DOUBLE CUT PORK CHOP P490

Carnivores will be delighted with this. Visualize cutting into that thick slab of pork chop sitting atop a dollop of  silky smooth mashed potato while  swimming in that scrumptious gravy. I will not be able to finish an order of this. Can feed two.

STEAK AND EGGS P440

USDA Hanger steak Pinoy tapa style with poached egg, garlic rice and hollandaise sauce

I wish they  are open for breakfast. But this will also be good for brunch, lunch and dinner too. Steak was tender and flavorful and paired well with the garlic rice and poached egg.

Overall,
