Its been a while since our Rockwell visit. Quite thrilled to find out they did a “little” expansion on the National Bookstore side. Since its PigOutSundays once more, the family gravitated towards that new annex of Rockwell , on the prowl for some new restaurants we can have lunch in. Hubby and I were inclined to dine at Din Tai Fung in the ground floor. Would you believe we have not tried this restaurant at all yet? Alas, it was not meant to be. The piggery was not in the mood for any dimsum no matter the famous xlb of Din Tai Fung. And then we spotted The Wholesome Table at R2. We loved how it was all wood and french doors… 
We adored the touches of white brick on destressed wood….. 
Yes there is a tree right smack in the middle of the restaurant and beyond that the open kitchen. The vibe was homey and cozy. Ordered the following : 
Poke Bowl for moi P450
Raw Salmon,Wakame, Brown Rice, Onion Leeks, Japanese Mayo, stir fry sauce,
Romaine, Ebiko, Furkake, Tagarashi Spice, Pickled Ginger.
I loved the whole ensemble It was healthy and filling. It may look like a small bowl, but the portion was just right
Truffle Mushroom Pasta P420 for the unica
Spaghetti, Wild Mushrooms, White Wine, Truffle cream.
Per unica, the pasta was al dente and the flavors ok. She still prefers Mary Grace version, sorry.
Macaroni and Cheese P450
Macaroni, Aged Ricotta, Gruyere, Emmental, Milk
Seems second son loved his mac n cheese but the portion was a bit on the small side
for him for that price
Bistek Tagalog P580
Grass Fed Beef Tenderloin, Free Range Eggs, Garlic Brown Rice, Side Salad
Other than the price which he cant move on from,
81 year old Pa-in-law was happy with his order. Clean Plate!
Grass Fed Beef Burger P490
100% Grass-fed Beef Patty Emmental, Arugula, Tomatoes, Field Greens
Option : serve with romaine hearts instead of potato bun
Bunso was happy with his order and does not want to make a choice between this
and his favorite Shitake Burger from Fridays. So I guess he liked Wholesome Table’s version too
Ultimate Grilled Cheese P480
Emmental, Mozzarella, Dijon Mustard, Onion Jam, Mornay Sauce,
Grilled Sourdough, Tomato Soup
Hubby was unhappy with his order. He did not feel the cheese. I tried a bite and realized what he meant. It tasted like an onion jam sandwich instead of grilled cheese.
Loved the grilled sourdough though
Yakitori Bowl P430
Yakitori chicken, brown rice pilaf, baked chicken skin, snow peas, gluten free Yakitori sauce, poached free range egg
1st son was quiet all throughout lunch. Found out later he just enjoyed his choice so much hahaha. 
There were also baked items freshly baked from the premises. Sadly though we were not able to taste them

Service : Topnotch
Price: On the high side . Be prepared to shell out upwards of P400 per main
There were hits and misses. But I liked the concept . I like eating healthy, It is pricey but so is your health. We only have one body after all. So the answer is YES. Can not wait to try the other items on their menu
